Born in 1973, Valérie Mangin studied at the École Nationale des Chartes in the early 90s. But rather than curator of a major national museum, she became a comic book scriptwriter and writer. Since then, she has published mainly adventure stories that combine historical, political and cultural themes. Whether in the Rome of the Chronicles of Galactic Antiquity, the conceptual puzzle of Three Christs, the sophisticated autofiction of Abymes or the grandiose peplum of Alix Senator, she plays with the codes of popular literature.

With Denis Bajram, she is at the origin of the creation of Quadrants editions and participated in the founding of the authors' union, the SNAC-BD, then in that of the States General of Comic Strips and the League of Professional Authors.
